Guiding Light: Legend of the Nephylim

- BACKSTORY -

Long ago, the Light shone forth and in Its great power, created all that we see and hear. All that is and was and ever will be was put into motion at that moment in time.

The Light created the stars, the planets, and all types of humans and creatures on the planet called Farados.

The Light has messengers, called Angels, that would descend from the Heavens and bring knowledge and wisdom from the Light to all Its creation. For a time, all was peaceful under the reign and communion of the Light.

The Angels, however, soon began to grow tireless due to a force in the Heavens spreading false ideals about overthrowing the Light and becoming the new reigning Sovereign. The Usurper, as he is known, sought to turn the Angels against the Light, and in this, was cast from the Heavens to walk the lands of Farados.

For years, the Usurper went from sea to sea, sowing evil and discord in the hearts of mankind in an attempt to turn them against the Light. It was during his travels over centuries on Farados that he hatched a plan. The Angels still under his command were sent out and took the form of man and woman. They began to procreate with mankind, creating a race of Human/Angel hybrid that is now known in legends as the Nephylim. 

These Nephylim, in the beginning, were often very similar in appearance to Humans, but with great power. Some were able to control elements, some had supernatural strength, and some had a wide variety of other powers and abilities. Some, however, were abominations to mankind, grotesque in size and appearance. These were driven from mankind with harsh ridicule and prejudice. 

After the initial surge of the Nephylim, however, none of made their existence known. No one knows what the Usurpers plans are, or even where he is, or what he looks like. Some even doubt he exists at all, and is a nighttime story told to children to scare them.

But he is out there...waiting....watching...

- STORY -

A young warrior priest named Tobias (Can be renamed by the player) is undergoing a pilgrimage to become ordained into the Holy Brotherhood of the Light. By his side is a small creature named Ruach, claiming to be sent by the Light to help guide Tobias to fulfil a role he is to play in the Light's plan to save the world from an upcoming evil threat.

To this end, he wanders the countryside, helping those in need, slaying monsters, and seeking guidance from the Light as to his ultimate destiny.
